Q: What is your role on the True South Solar team?
I am a Field Service Engineer. I am responsible for troubleshooting and repair of our fleet of PV (Photovoltaic) systems. True South has a service division, where customers can contact me directly with troubles they are having with their PV systems.
Q: What’s your favorite part of the job?
My favorite parts of the job are the challenges and rewards of working with an awesome team to provide clean renewable energy to our region. I feel blessed to have a job that contributes positively to the world and to work for a company that has a blast doing it!
Q: What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned since joining the team?
I am greeted with a new lesson every day! The main lesson is to never be complacent because there is a new challenge with each site visit.
Q: When did you first start thinking about solar?
I was a young lad when I got to assist with my first install with my solar electrician stepdad. Since then, I’ve been involved in different aspects of the solar industry, from electrical engineering of solar MPPT chargers, to site analysis and design, and now field service.
Q: What’s your favorite thing to do in the sun?
I prefer to spend my free time surfing and snowboarding (the bluebird days of course)!
