Our Largest Commercial Solar Installation To-Date

The Terramai production facility in White City OR

In a groundbreaking milestone for True South Solar, Southern Oregon’s premier solar installation company, our team recently completed our largest commercial project to-date. 880 solar panels now cover the roof of a newly-built industrial production structure in White City, totaling 475.2 kilowatts of power.

True South Solar, with over 13 years of experience in the region, has been at the forefront of sustainable energy solutions. The company’s commitment to promoting clean energy practices aligns seamlessly with our latest achievement – the installation of a state-of-the-art solar electric system at TerraMai, a prominent White City-based company specializing in sustainable wood products.

Terramai Leads the Way

TerraMai, a leading provider of distinctive, sustainable wood Acoustic Panels, Modular & Open Panels, flooring, paneling, tabletops, countertops, and stair treads, is now the proud host of Southern Oregon’s largest commercial solar installation. The system, designed and installed by True South Solar, offsets approximately 79% of TerraMai’s current energy use. This marks a significant stride towards a greener, more sustainable future for both the company and for Southern Oregon as a whole.

Making Use of Incentives

True South Solar’s commitment to making solar energy accessible is evident in our strategic placement of 880 solar panels for this project. Additionally, the installation at TerraMai qualified for a USDA REAP (Rural Energy for America Program) Grant, further emphasizing the project’s alignment with sustainability and economic efficiency. The REAP Grant provides crucial funding to farms and rural small businesses for solar energy systems, covering up to 50% of the costs. This grant can be coupled with a Federal 30% tax credit, making it an attractive and financially viable option for businesses like TerraMai.

Incentives and tax credits will cover approximately 70% of the overall project costs, so TerraMai stands to benefit significantly from their decision to go solar. Over the lifetime of the system, the company is projected to experience a 34% savings, translating to an internal rate of return at 9%. True South Solar’s successful completion of this landmark project not only reinforces their position as a leader in the local solar industry but also showcases the tangible benefits of sustainable energy adoption for businesses like TerraMai in Southern Oregon.
