Meet True South Solar employee Wade! He is a commercial salesperson who was with the company for a number of years, relocated around the country and the world, then returned to the Rogue Valley–and True South Solar–in 2024.
When did you first start thinking about solar?
Back in my college years I bought a book about Earthship building construction and there was an “aha” moment about how a properly designed building could be 100% run off of solar power. Just the idea of that by placing this small panel device towards the sun could run most anything electrical, seemed so empowering.
What’s your favorite thing to do in the sun?
Soak it in after a cold moment such as swimming in a creek or getting out of the ocean.
What brought you to True South Solar?
In this case it’s what brought me back! I’ve traveled a lot and worked with a half dozen solar companies in varying capacities since I worked at TSS last and I can say the commitment to the cause, concern for all the staff, culture of do great in and out of work, along with a classy office 🙂 drew me back for the long term.
What are you most looking forward to while working here?
Helping to build out our commercial division within TSS, establish stronger relations within our community and have a great time doing it!
What do you see for the future of solar?
Nothing but sunshine! Really though, the adoption rates are far exceeding predictions from 10+ years ago, uncertainty/instability are only increasing and I think people are realizing that it’s really the only option to the alternative. With the emergence of advanced battery storage systems, electric cars and heat pumps, technically speaking, your home or business could generate 100% of your power for living and transportation, all the while saving you a ridiculous amount of money over the long term.
