Meet Jed Hartley! He’s a member of the True South Solar installation team. He is an electrician.
What got you interested in the Solar field?
As an electrician, I wanted to use my skills in a specialized field. I want to do electrical work that makes customers happy. Rather than fixing unexpected problems, I’m excited to contribute to an upgrade for customers. I feel like the choice of getting solar will always make people happy and I get to play a small part in that.
What’s your favorite thing to do in the sun?
I enjoy riding bikes with my family. I also enjoy fishing. I love the beach on a sunny day.
What brought you to True South Solar?
Living in Ashland, True South Solar is a well known local employer with a great reputation. I have often worked or traveled out of town for jobs. Working locally in my own community for a company that cares about their people is something I’ve wanted for a long time.
What are you most looking forward to while working here?
I am very excited to learn about how the whole system works and to learn about the different varieties of battery systems that we offer.
What do you see is the future of solar?
I hope that someday it will be so common that everyone can get it. Finding alternative ways to bring power to homes is an obvious path to environmental sustainability. I feel lucky to be a small part of that mission now.
