We’re Hiring a Journeyman Electrician

We are currently seeking a licensed Oregon Journeyman Electrician to join our team! This position is responsible for ensuring that True South Solar’s installations are executed to code and meet our company standards. The Solar Electrician will coordinate residential and commercial projects, lead the installation crew and troubleshoot. Solar experience not required, but a plus. We will provide on the job training and educational opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install electrical service equipment, wiring and devices required for the installation of residential solar PV systems
  • Install electrical systems that interconnect our solar array to the grid power of our customer’s residential property
  • Install battery back-up storage systems
  • Install new service panel upgrades
  • Act as an on-site supervisor for install crews
  • Provide regular project and crew updates to the Field Manager and complete necessary paperwork
  • Provide crew support including staging materials, general site work support, including site preparation and clean up
  • Coordinate and communicate with electrical inspectors to satisfy local requirements
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with businesses and homeowners
  • Troubleshoot system problems and resolve electrical issues
  • Maintain annual continuing education requirements
  • Train and mentor LRT Apprentices
  • Maintain high-quality control on tools, vehicles and materials needed
  • Maintain compliance to all PPE and safety regulations per OSHA and company standards
  • Complete additional job duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • Current Oregon Journeyman Electrician license
  • Experience in solar a plus, but not required
  • Genuine interest and willingness to learn solar electric
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly, climbing ladders, and working on sloped roofs in all weather conditions
  • Ability to troubleshoot projects
  • Ability to read and interpret one-line drawings and electrical schematics
  • Understanding of wire and conduit sizing
  • Ability to make adjustments for environmental factors
  • Ability to navigate guidelines and code requirements
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to perform advanced electrical calculations
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Leadership experience a plus
  • Above average computer skills
