Commercial Energy Storage Solutions

Many businesses, schools, and other organizations are considering on-site micro-grid solutions. This is an excellent idea. It’s emerging as the go-to solution for keeping your business operating, even when the grid goes down.

One of our chosen partners for commercial-scale on-site energy storage is ELM Microgrid Solutions. Their products enable your institution to “island” your on-site energy production so that you can use that power when the grid goes down. With more than 300 days of sun in our region, even if the power goes out for a few hours or days at a time, you can rest assured that you will have uninterrupted power.

Elm Microgrid Solutions offers turn-key energy storage options for small businesses, schools, and other commercial applications.

Realize the Financial Benefits of Commercial Solar

Installing solar panels on your business can provide significant long-term cost savings and a strong return on investment. Here are some of the key financial benefits to consider:

  • Electricity Bill Savings – Once your solar system is installed, you will immediately begin lowering your electricity bills as the panels supply clean power directly to your building.
  • Accelerated Depreciation – With solar, you can deduct 85%* of your system costs from your federal taxes, thanks to the accelerated depreciation benefit. And while there is bonus depreciation available, you can write off a significant portion of the investment in year one.
  • Federal Tax Credits – A 30% federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC) is currently available for commercial solar systems. This will reduce your tax liability significantly. Nonprofit organizations receive a 30% cash payout in lieu of the credit as they do not have federal tax liability.
A Production Tax Credit (PTC) is also available from the federal government. The PTC is a per kilowatt-hour (kWh) tax credit for electricity generated by solar for the first 10 years of a system’s operation. It would also reduce your federal income tax liability. Your business can claim either the ITC or the PTC, not both.
  • State/Local IncentivesIncentives are available in Southern Oregon including cash rebates, production-based incentives, and property tax exemptions. We will maximize all the incentives you qualify for. In many cases, the incentives come directly to us, emabling us to reduce the cost to you.
  • Positive ROI – When you factor in all incentives and ongoing utility savings, most commercial solar systems pay for themselves within 4-7 years and provide a lifetime of free electricity after that. Contact us for a detailed ROI analysis.

Take control of your energy costs, maximize financial incentives, improve your business’s bottom line, and gain energy independence for decades to come with solar. Our team is ready to review your potential commercial solar benefits. Reach out today!

*If your business claims both the Investment Tax Credit and depreciates your system, you must reduce the depreciation amount by one-half of the tax credit: 15%. You would still be able to depreciate 85% of the total cost of your solar panel system. If you do not claim the federal tax credit, you can depreciate 100% of the total cost.
