Get to Know Zac Morel, Installer

Q: What do you do on the TSS team?

I’m currently a licensed LRT (Limited Renewables Technician) Apprentice and take classes at Rogue Community College to learn the trade. I am a materials handler, which is an important role on the installation crew. I help make sure we have the right equipment in place on the jobsite to safely and cleanly install solar panels.

Q: What’s your favorite part of the job?

Knowing that my work is part of a movement towards a more sustainable energy future.

Q: What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned since joining the team?

Always double check to make sure you have all your tools and equipment before you leave for a job site!

Q: When did you first start thinking about solar?

I first started thinking about solar when I went to an all solar-powered music and arts festival put on by University of New Hampshire when I was a student there. It really opened my eyes to the possibilities around renewable energy and got me thinking about how to live a more environmentally friendly lifestyle.

Q: What’s your favorite thing to do in the sun?

On a sunny day, I'll usually go for a nice long trail run in the Ashland Watershed.
