Q: What is your role on the True South Solar team?
I am the Inside Sales & Marketing Manager. I help customers who are interested in going solar by answering any questions they have and scheduling a time when we can do a free consultation. I also work on True South’s social media presence, update the website, and constantly bother the crew for more photos of our installations.
Q: What’s your favorite part of the job?
I love being a part of our mission of “Solar on Every Rooftop and Best Jobs Ever”. It’s really been a dream come true. Getting to work on energy solutions is very fulfilling.
Q: What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned since joining the team?
I’ve learned how important company culture is. My position wouldn’t be nearly as fulfilling if we didn’t have the sense of family that we have here at True South. We all work together with our different specialities to create magic.
Q: When did you first start thinking about solar?
I first started thinking about solar in 2011. I went to Germany to study renewable energy and found my passion there. I was a student at Southern Oregon University and became the director of sustainability for student government. I helped create the Green Fund on campus to start a funding source to get sustainability projects off the ground, which of course included solar.
Q: What’s your favorite thing to do in the sun?
My favorite thing to do in the sun is go to the beach, paddle board, and read books. I also enjoy watching Disney movies with my family and spending my spare time being a part of organizations that make a difference. I’m on the board of Southern Oregon University, McKenzie River Gathering Foundation, and Rogue Climate.
